Like my fellow Brit before me, David Hockney, who showed us the swimming pools in Los Angeles, these prints share my own insight into a different yet equally compelling aspect of life in Los Angeles. Every April through June, Jacaranda trees bloom all over the city! Their blooms are prolific and the trees are huge. They line many busy and residential streets. Their subtle and complex blue, lavender, purple and pink colors against still concrete and glass of the urban surfaces always fascinate me! Their annual display of color is familiar to all Angelenos.
